Brightgreen, design leaders...
Brother's David and Barry O'Driscoll started Brightgreen from their Perth garage in 2008. Unfortunately the brothers had the misfortune of launching their company just before the Global Financial Crisis hit, which David says made "investors reluctant to part with any cash." Despite this set back, David and Barry believed in their idea so passionately they decided to fund the entire business themselves. Their perservere through the difficult beginnings paid off and lead to the release of the Curve D900 - the first LED downlight to match the light output of premium 50 watt halogen. The D900 was a market success and has seen Brightgreen go from strength to strength ever since.
Brightgreen is committed to sustainable practices, the core purpose of Brightgreen is to put an end to planned obsolescence. Planned obsolescence is a business model based on making profits from designing products with intentionally shortened lifecycles. We’ve disrupted the way the lighting industry works by designing lights that last for about 30 years, forcing competitors to follow suit. When a Brightgreen light finally reaches the end of its life the company has a buy back scheme that ensures the proper disposal and reuse of the light. Brightgreen is also committed to having as little impact on the environment and the people who use their products by ensuring all their lights a free of heavy metals.
CEO and Co-Founder of Brightgreen Barry O'Driscoll believes that the company will continue to be one of the leader's in the LED lighting industry not just in Australia but internationally. He believes that "when it comes to product design, it’s really important to ask your market the right questions so that you can come up with a practical solution for the end user." Barry says that Brightgreen isn't afraif create the future, instead of waiting for it to unfold around them. Without a single luminaire failure in any of 150,000 Brightgreen D900s they have manufactured for customers, Brightgreen is set to remain the standard by which all other LED light bulbs are measured.
The BR1000 is an LED bulb with a total light output of 1046 lumens, the same as the average 100 watt incandescent bulb, it is universally dimmable. The Br1000 LED will do everything your old incandescents did but use only 12.5 watts compared to 100 watts.
The 36 degree sqaure beam of the D400 Curve (BG-CR-D400) allows for direct lighting of smaller spaces such as alcoves, above vanity basins, wall recesses and kitchen benches.
The 90/30 degree lens version of the D900 3000K Cube offers a unique rectangular beam width that increases the versatility of the light. With a rectangular beam 3x longer than it is wide, it is ideal for hallways and lighting solutions in other long spaces.
The W200 Cube offers a choice between direct and diffuse soft light from the same wall-light. Create high quality orientation lighting in your halls and stairwells, or next to vanity basins and toilets.
The D900 3000K Curve 90-30 is a warm white (3000K) LED downlight featuring an oblong beam great for lighting kitchen benchtops, hallways and other long spaces. It is the only LED downlight that matches the brightness and light output of a premium 50W halogen.
W200 Curve wall light casts a soft, diffuse wash light downwards to achieve high quality, ambient orientation lighting for stairwells, halls and passageways.
For indirect lighting applications, the W900 Curve wall light casts a bright, diffuse light upon surfaces such as walls and ceilings, making spaces appear brighter and more spacious.
The DR700 is an LED bulb with a total light output of 720 lumens, the same as the average 50 watt halogen bulb, it is universally dimmable and works with all transformers. The DR700 LED will do everything your old halogens did but use only 10.5 watts compared to 50 watts.
At just 38W, with a lumen output of up to 3192 lumens, the SL3500 is a super bright, ultra efficient replacement for 200W halogen shoplighters.
